1. Acceptance

By accessing or using FilmWIP (filmwip.com), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and a unique handle. Email is optional and not required to use the site. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

3. Your content & copyright

You retain ownership of content you create or submit. By submitting material to public areas of the site (for example, the gallery), you grant FilmWIP a limited license to display that material for operating the service.

You must only upload or submit content you have the rights to use. Do not infringe copyrights, trademarks, or other rights of others.

4. Prohibited content & conduct

You may not use FilmWIP to post, share, or promote:

Harassment of other users, admins, or third parties is not allowed.

5. Ratings

When you submit a film or WIP to the public gallery, you assign an MPAA-style rating yourself. Ratings are subject to admin review and may be adjusted or required to change. Misrepresenting content in a way that endangers viewers may result in moderation action.

6. Local media

Private project media accessed through the browser remains on your device unless you later choose a feature that explicitly uploads files (not part of the initial launch). You are responsible for backups and the legal status of media on your machine.

7. Moderation

Admins may approve, reject, hide, or remove public submissions; adjust ratings; and act on reports. We may contact you through the site’s messaging features regarding moderation decisions.

8. Service availability

FilmWIP is provided “as is.” Features may change. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

9. Your data

We do not sell your personal data.

You have the right to delete your account and the data we store for it. Signed-in users can do that from Edit profile → Delete my account, after a confirmation step. That removes the account and the data we store on our servers. Media files that stay on your computer are yours to delete locally; we cannot remove those.

10. Contact

Signed-in users can reach site admins through Portal → Messages, even if they did not provide an email at registration. We will not email you unless you opt in later (password reset or extra content, if added, would be opt-in only).

This document summarizes core policies for launch. It is not a substitute for formal legal counsel.
